Terms and Conditions
ONE.
All work is carried out on a
‘best-endeavours’ basis and clients
shall cooperate as far as may be
reasonably required with specific
preferences for terms, style, etc.,
indicating the said preferences before
work on the translation of the text
begins.
TWO. All translated texts remain the
property of Chris Lancaster until paid
for in full.
THREE. Any doubts/queries must be
sent within seventy-two (72) hours from
receipt of the translated text and
sufficient time given for their study
and modification, where necessary.
FOUR. For texts commissioned by a
translation company, the said company
shall undertake to provide a further
revision of the translated text on its
own account and only doubts/queries from
the person commissioned with the said
revision and sent before the final text
is delivered to the translation
company's client or within the term of
72 hours from the reception of the
translated text by the translation
company, whichever is completed first,
shall be considered. Chris Lancaster
shall not be held liable for and no
consideration shall be given to
doubts/queries regarding the translated
text once the said term has expired or
the text has been delivered to the
translation company's client.
FIVE. For texts commissioned by a
translation company, no discounts, cash
returns or similar shall be made for
whatsoever reason unless agreed
specifically in each case by and between
Chris Lancaster and the said translation
company, where the said agreement shall
necessarily detail the specific reasons
and monetary amounts. Whatsoever
discount, cash return or similar shall
not apply once the term of 72 hours laid
down in clause 4 has expired or once the
final text has been delivered to the
translation company's client.
SIX. Unless expressly specified
otherwise and agreed by Chris Lancaster
prior to the commencement of the job,
work commissioned by translation
companies shall comprise only the
translation of the text and shall not
include whatsoever formatting or
technical adjustments beyond the
reasonable use of bold, italic or
underlined lettering. Such formatting or
technical adjustments shall be carried
out exclusively by the translation
company.
SEVEN. The commissioning of a text
or the acceptance of the price imply
full acceptance of these terms and
conditions, which shall prevail over any
other agreement reached by and between
Chris Lancaster and the client before or
after the translation of the text has
been commissioned.
EIGHT. Chris Lancaster declines
all responsibility for terminology,
texts or parts of texts included in
translation memories supplied by the
client and applied to the commissioned
text unless the revision of the said
terminology, texts or parts of texts is
expressly included in the commission. |
